HOUE is a Danish design house founded in 2007. Combining great comfort and design in their work, HOUE always put a lot of effort into product development, striving to meet a high standard of craftsmanship.

HOUE products are manufactured only in well-established factories where a very close cooperation is maintained. HOUE products are not an example of random mass production, instead every detail, joint or component of furniture is thoroughly thought through, chosen or invented by the experienced team.

HOUE GARDEN FURNITURE

The outdoor furniture design is strongly identified by a mix of unique materials, such as bamboo, metal or aluminium, granite & plastic. The versatility and functionality of the furniture is at the heart of designers Henrik Pedersen, Rooe Magdassi, Thomas Pedersen & recently Hans Thyge & Co. who design HOUE's products. The form and shape of outdoor tables and chairs is particularly important as it is what pleases the eye as well as offers optimal comfort.

Another element that makes HOUE so appealing is the choice of colourful lamellas on most of the chairs. An on-trend colour pallet of replaceable plastic lamellas helps create beautiful garden settings that adapt to various outdoor styles and enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The beauty and suitability of bamboo in HOUE outdoor furniture is fascinating. This is the material that comes from the fastest growing member of the grass family - bamboo shoots up to 1 meter within 24 hours, it also re-plants itself and releases more oxygen than any other plant. Bamboo is a very hard material and stronger than most traditional wood alternatives. It is stable and affected very little by humidity therefore a perfect choice for outdoor furniture. My main inspiration is neo-scandinavian design, influenced by the vibes of London and the humor of Amsterdam, often with elements of fusion, resulting in materials and functions being combined in new and original ways, while always striving for a pure and simple look.

NEW DIRECTION IN SUSTAINABILITY

HOUE has a strong vision of developing and manufacturing products sustainably and with an environmentally mindset.  As a result of its passion for responsible furniture production HOUE have designed 2 outdoor chairs that feature seat parts made from Danish household plastic trash and are manufactured in Denmark.

The technology behind re-using plastic household trash for furniture production is developed in Denmark. Re-CLIPS and NAMI chairs are the result of mixing Danish design and Danish innovation - and converting this new thinking and materials into a chair.

In addition to a wide range of garden furniture collections HOUE offer a curated selection of furniture for interiors too. An award winning project FALK has become HOUE's signature collection due to its sustainability causes. We stopped looking at trash as a problem, and started seeing it as the resource it is. And we created a chair made of recycled everyday household plastic.
