Meet the J178 chair, a product of Danish craftsmanship. This oak chair includes either a wooden (oak veneer) seat or a one woven with paper cord. This material is also known as Danish paper cord. Long stripes of flat papers are twisted to form a rope and then are set into coils. It is a natural and sustainable product that last a long time due to its inherent resistance.

The windblown landscape in northern Jutland has inspired the J178 chair, where the superfluous details have been pared away to leave the bare essentials. A bit like the landscape on Jutland’s west coast, which has been popular with nature-lovers and artists for generations.

The result is a chair that can stand alone or as a group to create a distinctive designer look in the living room, dining room or elsewhere in the home. It is also a very stylish addition to any commercial setting. The round legs and struts and the woven paper cord are reminiscent of various well-known designer chairs, yet the style is unmistakably contemporary.
