Featuring a retro design, a variety of colours, and a simple yet elegant style, TON's IRONICA Chair with an upholstered seat is even more comfortable than it's original all-wood style. A versatile addition to any home or hospitality interior. Crafted with careful attention to detail, its seven hand-smoothed bars form a curved backrest for ultimate comfort. Perfectly complementing TON tables, this chair offers endless possibilities for creative combinations.

WOOD TYPE

IRONICA chair is available in beech or oak wood (PEFC certified): 

// Beech wood: best known and most commonly used deciduous trees. Beech wood is light to pinkish in colour and features texture that is not very distinctive. The wood is hard, relatively strong, less elastic, homogeneous and dense.

// Oak: one of the most sought after materials for centuries. Its core is relatively wide, evenly coloured, brownish with grey or yellowish tinges. The wood is strong, hard and very durable. It is the most resilient material against fluctuations of wet and dry conditions.

WOOD FINISH

In addition, the finish of either beech or oak is available in the following options:

1. Varnished or oiled finish:  lacquered (water based varnish, UV protective, easy to clean and maintain) or oiled (matt protective layer that does not peel or crack and allows wood to breathe; minor damages can be sanded and re-oiled with this surface treatment; oil also brings out the natural colour of the wood). 

2. Stained finish*: staining is applied by either immersion or spraying and then finished with a layer of transparent lacquer. This finish allows for the individual wood characteristics to be visible. Staining does not affect the wood structure.

3. Pigmented finish*: pigment completely covers the surface of the wood leaving a smooth, fully covered appearance.  Oak has a pronounced pore structure, however, and this remains visible after a pigment has been applied. This attribute influences the final look of the product, together with the original wood colour, the production process, the angle of light, as well as individual perception of colour.

FABRICS

With a wide variety of options, TON's fabric selection is sure to impress - 4 fabric category palettes, 2 leather palettes, and even a healthcare selection. You can view all of the swatches at our showroom. For the IRONICA chair, we have selected Category B & C fabrics. If you would like to explore other combinations, please don't hesitate to contact us. 

Category B: luxury & lightweight Trevira CS fabrics, highly durable and flame retardant, these fabrics meet the Crib 5 standard. Enjoy easy maintenance, breathability, and fade resistance.

Category C: High-quality medium-weight permeable Trevira CS fabrics are resistant to abrasion and fading. The Lowlands Plain fabric is antibacterial, water-repellent, and anti-static. It also meets strict requirements for fire-resistant materials.
