TON's 822 armchair with an upholstered seat is the perfect blend of timeless design and modern minimalism. Expertly crafted in collaboration with the renowned Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune, this armchair draws inspiration from Josef Hoffmann's iconic 1930 design. The sleek and elegant proportions have been thoughtfully extended to fit with natural wood-bending techniques, while the delicate dot perforations add a touch of unique character to the plywood backrest. TON 822 collection is a must-have for any design enthusiast who appreciates the power of expert craftsmanship.

As well as the natural lacquered or oiled beech finish, 822 armchair can be stained, leaving the woodgrain visible under the chosen shade, or fully covered with a pigment:

// Varnished or oiled beech finish:  lacquered (water based varnish, UV protective, easy to clean and maintain) or oiled (matt protective layer that does not peel or crack and allows wood to breathe; minor damages can be sanded and re-oiled with this surface treatment; oil also brings out the natural colour of the wood). 

// Stained beech finish*: staining is applied by either immersion or spraying and then finished with a layer of transparent lacquer. This finish allows for the individual wood characteristics to be visible. Staining does not affect the wood structure.

// Pigmented beech finish*: pigment completely covers the surface of the wood leaving a smooth, fully covered appearance.

UPHOLSTERY

With a wide variety of options, TON's fabric selection is sure to impress - 4 fabric category palettes, 2 leather palettes, and even a healthcare selection. You can view all of our swatches at our showroom.  For the 822 armchair, we have selected Category B & C fabrics or Category 1 leathers. Category B: luxury & lightweight Trevira CS fabrics, highly durable and flame retardant, these fabrics meet the Crib 5 standard. Enjoy easy maintenance, breathability, and fade resistance.

Category C: High-quality medium-weight permeable Trevira CS fabrics are resistant to abrasion and fading. The Lowlands Plain fabric is antibacterial, water-repellent, and anti-static. It also meets strict requirements for fire-resistant materials.

Caterogy 1 Leather: this pigmented leather has a regular embossed pattern with no defects, making it a popular choice for restaurants and hotels. Despite losing its natural permeability and softness during the correction process, it offers a uniform pattern, easy upkeep, and increased durability and resistance to fading.
