Jørgen Bækmark's furniture embodies a distinctive sense of balance, epitomised by his timeless dining armchairs, like the iconic J81. Crafted from wood, these chairs feature seats intricately woven with Danish paper cord, a durable material made from twisted strips of paper formed into coils. Renowned for its longevity and eco-friendliness, Danish paper cord adds a natural charm to the chairs while ensuring lasting quality.

The J81 armchair made its debut in 1962 and remains a chic option, whether for home dining spaces or commercial establishments such as loft-like cafes, rustic bistros, and modern restaurants.

WOOD FINISH

As well as the lacquered or oiled solid oak finish, chair frame also comes in painted solid beech finish:

Lacquered or oiled solid oak finish: lacquered (water based varnish, UV protective, easy to clean and maintain) or oiled (matt protective layer that does not peel or crack and allows wood to breathe; minor damages can be sanded and re-oiled with this surface treatment; oil also brings out the natural colour of the wood).

Painted solid beech finish: the paint adds a protective layer, increasing the furniture's resistance to wear and tear, scratches, and stains. Water-based paint finish allows the natural grain and texture of the wood to show through, preserving the beauty and character of the beech wood.
